Crystal Hollows pathing: nucleus, gemstones & the May 2026 layout
The four nucleus zones, in order
Crystal Hollows generates with five interior zones: Mithril Deposits, Goblin Holdout, Precursor Remnants, Magma Fields and the Jungle. The "nucleus" — the central zone reachable only via a corridor crossing — contains four landmark areas that gate Crystal Quest progression:
- Goblin King (Goblin Holdout interior) — Crystal Quest 1
- Mines of Divan (Mithril Deposits interior) — Crystal Quest 2
- Khazad-dûm (between Jungle and Magma) — corridor, not a quest target but the hub
- Lost Precursor City (Precursor interior) — Crystal Quest 3
What changed in May 2026
The reset relocated the bridge between Jungle and the Khazad-dûm pillar. Previously you could cut straight south from spawn to Mines of Divan via the old bridge; that corridor now dead-ends in a lava room. The new optimal route loops east through Khazad-dûm and re-enters Mines via the upper passage.
Net effect: ~25 seconds added per quest cycle if you previously used the south route. ASR's pathing detects the new layout from server-sent waypoints and routes you correctly without manual reset.
Gem cluster priorities for powder grinding
For Mithril/Gemstone Powder/hr the ranking is:
- Ruby — densest clusters, highest base powder yield
- Jade — second-best yield, found near Jungle perimeter
- Amber — high yield but sparse spawns
- Amethyst — middle of the pack, common
- Sapphire — value-grinding (low powder, high coin)
- Topaz / Jasper — high value but slow per-cluster clear
If your goal is Powder/hr, filter ASR's gemstone highlights to Ruby + Jade only. If you're farming for Sapphire to flip to Bazaar, filter to Sapphire and route between clusters near the Magma boundary.
Crystal Quest order — does it matter?
Yes. The Bal fight (Mines of Divan) is the longest single fight; doing it first when you have full HP and unbuffed mob density is correct. Then Goblin King, then Precursor — Precursor has parkour and benefits from a fresh momentum.
Powder grinding routing tips
- Stay in nucleus interior — chest spawns are denser inside the four landmark areas
- Watch for goblin patrols — they path-block; ASR highlights them on the path line
- Pickobulus or Mining Speed: Pickobulus for cluster bursts, Mining Speed for sustained grinding
- Royal Pigeon nests in the upper Dwarven deck give passive coin between runs — ASR waypoints them
Where ASR helps
Anti-stuck detection (visual flash if you're walled for >1.5s), gemstone cluster filter, route line that respects the May 2026 corridor change, and a powder/hr live counter. None of it mines for you.
