Auto Secret Routes vs the field

Honest, feature-level comparison against the five mods most SkyBlock players actually run: Skyblocker, NotEnoughUpdates, Patcher, SkyHanni and Sodium. We try not to be preachy about where they're better than us.

Feature matrix

"Partial" means the feature exists but is more limited or requires a sister mod. Empty cells are intentional — not every mod tries to do everything.

Where each mod actually shines

Auto Secret Routes

Strongest at dungeon secret routing and Kuudra phase work. Recently caught up on Crystal Hollows nucleus pathing — that's the most-cited reason new users switch over. Weak spot: no FPS optimisation, you still want Sodium.

Skyblocker

Probably the broadest scope mod and an excellent default if you want one jar that does most things reasonably. Less aggressive about routing — its dungeon support tracks rooms but doesn't draw secret paths the way ASR does.

NotEnoughUpdates (NEU)

The Bazaar/AH/itemography brain of SkyBlock. Auction sniping, neu-repo item data, pricing math — irreplaceable for serious trading. The 1.21+ Fabric port is still in beta as of mid-2026.

SkyHanni

Excellent garden tooling and slayer XP/hr math. If you live in The Garden, SkyHanni is the better pick; ASR's farming overlay is good, SkyHanni's is better.

Patcher

Legacy 1.8 only — included here because some players still run a 1.8 instance for FPS. Patcher is an FPS / quality-of-life mod, not a SkyBlock-aware mod. It's complementary to anything in this list when you're on 1.8.

Sodium

Not a SkyBlock mod, but the rendering backbone we recommend with every entry above. If you only install one performance mod, install Sodium first.

What we'd actually run

A reasonable 2026 SkyBlock setup is ASR + Skyblocker + Sodium + NEU (when its 1.21 port stabilises). They co-exist cleanly because each owns a different HUD region by default — and ASR's /asr settings → Conflicts page lets you turn off any duplicate module.
